Here comes another one. Another site will be chasing down your personal information and invading your privacy, but with a twist. Once they have your profile created, and if they can figure out if you're single or not, they are going to add you to their dating site as "available" and members can pay to get access to your contact info. No chance of them ever getting it wrong and placing married people on the meat market is there?

It gets better. They are promoting it as "an interest in public safety" -- How low can they go...

Nothing remotely sick or wrong with this is there?:

Once the information is posted, a person can delete or update their profiles for free but will be charged a fee if they want to contact any other member, Jordan said. If the profile lists the person as single, their profile will automatically be added to the dating section of Gotham’s site.

How many privacy laws of other countries will these people be violating?

Lots of women will complain. Few men will.

Jordan, however, told the Star he doesn’t believe his site violates any privacy laws.

“Certainly not, that information that we have gleaned is a matter of public record. This information can be obtained by anyone with a computer and a little elbow grease,” he said.

Probably irrelevant on this side of the Atlantic as the data will not be used for the "specified purpose" for which it was gathered.

Unfortunately Washington's poodles in Westminster seem quite happy about the US refusal to ratify their half of the current extradition treaty.

Sign me up! (Hint, single... old, worn out, grey and snaggle-toothed, with halitosis and toe-jam) Here I am! Prime cut!

"We are the Facebook of the dating world," he continued. "We are not doing anything malicious. It's no different than what Facebook does. We are accessing the same public records."

Wait...what?

so this site is going to auto create people dating profiles based on what scraps of info they can find online?

how did a group of people agree that this was a good idea, all in the same room right? *gag*

The Internet is full of bottom feeders, this is a prime example. Someone has to do it. Might as well be the folks behind PrisonHookup.com and UglyPeopleDate.com - it fits their venue.

I also have a new idea for a social network site.

Scamdating.

So get ready to sign up if you are a 39 year old Nigerian with $ 300 Millionon from the late Mugu Halungo former Minister of Treasury of Morongo Island.

Can't wait to see John Smith's profile. I am sure they will have no problem sorting out the public data on John Smith and separating it all into 1000s of individual John Smith accounts without merging 2 individuals into 1.

I wonder how many times you will see John A. Smith's photo along with John B. Smith's personal info.
