How many, besides me, have forgot to pay the piper to keep their domain(s) DNS alive?
Has happened twice in the last 4 years. That 12-48 hour recovery is painful. Doesn't help that card/processing changes six months to a year, seeking those better terms etc. and forgetting to update... One of those shooting foot kind of things.
