Hello all,

Just wondering what the highest price for petrol is that people have either seen & choked at the thought of paying, or considering the recent price increase (and VAT rise at midnight tonight, Gah) is considered better than "that place round the corner".

There is a tesco by my mother's that is a few pence cheaper than the Jet across the street

£131.9 P/ltr - Highest I have seen on my drive back home yesterday
£123.9 P/ltr - My Local in Wrexham..

I'm just feeling sorry for all those hauliers out there who will go under this year.

Cheers,
MRb

We're pretty lucky in our region as there is a supermarket that sells fuel at a very low price. That keeps all the others low-ish. There's one other fuel station which is only 1p a litre more than the supermarket and they make their profit on everything else they sell, and they sell a lot of other stuff.

Fuel duty went up, and will be compunded by the the VAT increase kicks in tomorrow so it may look significantly different.

I paid £121.9 on Friday to fill my tank in Dumbarton, Scotland.

You will find that this government is no better than the last at protecting us from these shocking prices. As oil producers it is disgraceful that we are one of the most expensive companies in the world for petrol prices.

What is even more shocking is that ten years ago the price of petrol was about 70p per litre. At that time the HMRC motor mileage rate was set at 40p per mile for business users. Today it remains the same. Successive governments have refused to increase this rate.

I shall be vary wary now when I do my drive to work, there are two or three stations on my route in, so I shall see what variations there are within a 20 mile radius of the area, but as BeeDeeDubbleU states: As oil producers it is disgraceful that we are one of the most expensive companies in the world for petrol prices

Hopefully in the not too distant future these prices will start and fade again, 2008 was the last time I saw 87.9p P/Ltr

Lets just hope that road tax itself doesn't go up more. I shouldn't have said that should I...

Cheers,

That's one reason why I got a much smaller engined car that pollutes considerably less.

Which Junction was that? Long motor way the M6, but I guess that most of the petrol stations on the motorways (and the services) will be extortionate.

Lol, I'm just draining my old car of it's fuel and putting it in my new(er) car, so I won't need to fill up this week - so I am dreading next week!
