I've got lots of fresh ammo. Got a central family meeting place deep in the boondocks. Got a few cans of nutrituos canned Spam and some canned veggies, a can opener, a jug of water, kerosene for the backup heater, some antibiotics and a full tank of gas. Oh, and some dust masks.
I really should get a small battery powered radio. Yep, thats next on my list.
Any other suggestions?
As for preparation for a long term survival, it's crucial to pack fresh soils, some plastic pots (as they probably will last longer than the ceramic pots) and seeds of vegetables like tomato, cucumber, etc.
In case of serious warfare, the soils will not support adequate farming due to contamination...good thing about growing plant is that you don't necessary have to use precious drinking water (filtered urine will do...yikes...lol)
I will have to say that it's almost impossible for normal folks to prepare for such an event...as without a well-built shelter, radiation will get ya...in one or the other
and there really is no way one could stock enough fresh water for a long term survival...unless there was a way to dehydrate water for storage...but that sure doesn't make any sense to me...so yeah...hehehehehehehe
<-- End of my mumble -->
But all in all, modern industrialized society has pretty much guaranteed that most people will have neither the resources nor the know-how to "live off the land" for any extended period of time either way. How is someone in the middle of a big city, in a small apartment, supposed to grow enough food or store enough of anything to maintain extended self-sufficiency?
I'm fairly certain it won't become an issue to that extent anyhow.
But just in case, the buydehydratedwater people do offer free samples...

mivox, look on the brighter side (ummmm...I think it is a brighter side...hehehehe)
When poo poo hits the fan, cities will targetted first...probably with strong enough booms to destory the whole downtown. So yeah, he/she won't feel much...
I know it's pretty dang depressing perspective, but if I were to go, I'd prefer to go without knowing/feeling much
do you need to add water to this dehydrated water before you drink?
Well, you have to re-hydrate anything that's been dehydrated, right? hehehe... get a free sample, and tell us their secret!
As for the end of the world... I don't think anyone is going to be anihilating anyone else anytime soon. :) How's that for looking on the bright side?
