the memories fading now - but did have a couple of BBC 32 k computers with 5 meg Hard drives in the 1984 - 1985 that i linked up.

I used "Telecom gold" - still a search term in google!
as is bbc 32k

i sent created a drawing in mode 0 on 1 beeb with "spooled" the code to hard drive sent it via modem to the bb board connected logged in on the other machine to Telecom Gold downloaded the "spooled" code and ran it - up came the drawing.

because i sent the message to myself i knew it would work

i sent a message to the BB to tell people graphics could be sent.....they booooohed me at first

then said the boffins were gob smacked - one guy even sent a bb to me saying you dont realise what this means...

realised later it was the birth of browers and later how flash works.

32 k computers then were £400.00 each
2 5 meg hard drives were £1600.00 each
2 modems - i think were £200.00 each
