I just installed an N2MB no-lift shift device, also called a WOT Box (Wide Open Throttle) in my Shelby. Mine is the two-step version. First step is launch control. Program rpm launch speed, depress clutch, push gas all the way to the floor and voila launch rpms held until you engage clutch.

Second step, is simple - keep my foot planted. Depressing the clutch cuts ignition for a fraction of a second allowing gears to mesh easier and, (more important :)) maintaining boost since I never let up on the throttle.

If it doesn't rain, I'll be testing this out Saturday.

Bigger supercharger in the very near future.

You'll shoot your eye out.

Oh wait.. that's something else.

We're getting in the Christmas spirit early around here.

That's too much power for me lawman. You already had too much power and now you're streamlining it. I laid down a Honda Gold Wing in Huntsville, Alabama 14 years ago because I under estimated its power, and more importantly its weight. Sucker went sideways on me on a gravel road doing 50 and it was a year before I could even walk again. It got me out of drywall and onto the web so it was a good thing but as far as a career changing motivating factor I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

I've got a heavy foot. If it says 160 on the dial then sooner or later I'm probably going to see if it'll do it (visions of my '74 454 'vette come to mind). My problem is that I don't always have the skills to keep these vehicles between the ditches. The older I've gotten, the more timid I seem to have become. You're going the opposite direction.

I like your car posts.. read every one of them. If you're not already doing it it would make for a fine website.

That sounds like a great experiment, and i wish I could be there to see it.

The biggest problem I foresee is buring out the tyres.

Ya, I'll be testing my vehicle out this Saturday too - at the Fontana Raceway and the Street Legal Drags sponsored by AAA.

Me? I prefer a soft launch and then WHAM - C'ya! If I can get that launch just right without any wheel spin, you're history! :)

By this time next month, I should be putting out about 460HP to the rear (we're at 413/411 now), about 570HP to the crank.

lawman, I've been watching your progression with your car - nice!

My list of goodies so far... [VHEMINC.com...]

Factory tires can't handle the power. I slap on Mickey Thompson ET streets for the track.

I'm not the best launcher in the world. I'm hoping this device will make me look much better.

Putting down 555 to the wheels now. Supposed to be 630 with the TVS supercharger configuration I'm going for. After the S/C next mod is a cage.

I'm a car guy p1r. I happen to have a Mustang, but if you've kept up with me here, you know I've had an Eagle Talon Tsi (turbo), Acura TL Type S, Infiniti G35 Coupe, and 335i BMW (tuned turbo). The BMW was the first car I ever took to the drag strip. I was hooked after my first pass.

I love Chargers - always have. You have some impressive mods. Too bad we can't line up next to each other.

BTW, prior to this latest mod, my best ET was 11.75 and best trap was 123.xx. I hope the WOT Box improves both. Will keep everyone posted.

That's brutal! And you weigh what - 3,600 pounds? Yeow!

Supposed to be 630 with the TVS supercharger configuration I'm going for.

I can "hear" when another vehicle has HP under the hood, there are usually dead giveaways. The lope of a cam, the ting of headers, the hum of a supercharger, etc. 630HP? To the wheels? OOH-RAH!

After the S/C next mod is a cage.

Cages are a dead giveaway and mandatory once you break a certain ET.

Like who hasn't kept up with your automotive addiction? ;)

I'm right there with ya and, I have a Compact Car spread on me MR2 Turbo - that was back in the day. Running a MoTeC in the early 90s and at that time, no one had ever seen what the thing can do, the technology was pretty much reserved for higher end performance "automobiles". If you know anyone who has done a MoTeC, they'll RAVE, I'm sure. You replace the entire factory computer and now do engine management at levels where major performance gains can be had. Heck, I ran a corrected 11.17 in Palmdale at 6,000 feet with a 2.0 Turbo. Through the trap at 134.6 MPH. Whee!

I love Chargers - always have. You have some impressive mods. Too bad we can't line up next to each other.

I have a Challenger. I like Chargers also but there are too many of them. The Challenger is still a car you see very few of, especially SRT8s that are "conservatively modified."

Line up next to each other? Listen, there are more than a handful of overly aggressive Mustangs running around this neck of the woods. There's a Roush club I see on occasion not to mention many of the bigger name tuners are based here.

Lately I've been going to the Cars and Coffee event in Irvine. Vehicles start arriving around 05:30 and continue until 08:30/09:00. Hundreds, if not thousands of like minded folks gathering in a business parking lot (sponsored) having coffee and donuts while showing off their vehicles. Local law enforcement on the premises admiring all the HP too.

These folks are serious... [CNCPics.com...] < November Pics

That's fassst! At what altitude? Is there any correction involved with that ET? Nice! I'll be aiming for mid to high 12s this Saturday if the weather doesn't rain us out. Twice now the event had to be canceled due to inclement weather. In Southern California!

I'll hopefully have some ET slips to share this weekend too. Good luck lawman. At those HP levels, it now becomes a matter of managing horsepower and putting it to the road properly. The launch and little to no spin with immediate hookup is where it will happen, that 0-60 foot time plays a major role. :)

At what altitude?

242 feet. Sounds good until you realize how much heat/humidity we have around here much of the year. Saturday we're supposed to be in the 70s and humidity isn't supposed to be too high. If you want to check the density altitude on any given track, go HERE [dragtimes.com].

And you weigh what - 3,600 pounds

According to the track scales, with a quarter tank of gas and my fat but in the driver's seat, just a tick over 4,000 pounds.

Sounds like I need a trailer mod so I can come out to hang with you guys.

The new Challengers are the closest thing you can get nowadays to a Hemi 'cuda. :)

Lawman... you'd think that at sometime we might grow out of our youthful pursuits. Haven't managed to do that yet myself, but I'm hoping you'll soon see the light. :)

Don't own the critter, but did have a bit of fun last Tuesday tearing up an oval track with a Z06 (nobody else on the track... good thing, my eyes are not what they used to be). Grand fun realigning spine between shifts helping out a fellow idiot, er, nut, er, enthusiast? get an intermittent cooling problem ironed out.

Haha, tangor. My wife wouldn't allow me to have a Z06 but she said "yes" to the Shelby. My wife is hard to figure out, but I take what I can get. :)

Oh, I couldn't afford my youthful pursuit when I was young.

Saturday test 'n tune suddenly cancelled at local strip. Found a test 'n tune going on about two hours away. I really want to test this device. Deciding on whether to slap on the drag radials and drive up.

Had bigger supercharger and ported intake plenum installed monday. She's putting down 638 rwhp and 620 rwt but the clutch is slipping. I'll probably make a couple of passes this weekend and hope I don't fry my clutch. New clutch will be ordered today or Monday - probably a McLeod rxt, which is supposed to be able to handle up to 1000 hp and still be streetable.

After my runs at the track, I have further modifications being done. I should have the next build done by mid January 2011 and we're expecting to be at 530 RWHP (635 HP). Adding Vortech Supercharger, SP Ported/Polished Heads and Intake along with quite a few other little things to make it all whole.

I'm not giving out the ETs from the last runs just yet. I'm waiting until this next modification is done and then going back to fine tune a few things at the track. I'm going for the 11.5 to 12.0 range. Since it has been quite a while since I last raced at this level, I have some learning to do as this is a bit different than the MR2 which only had 2.0 liters and 2,800 pounds. Now I'm dealing with 6.1 liters and 4,500 pounds. Night and day. :)

Clutch lawman? I'm sure my day will come. I went through 3 of them with the MR2. I'm told my half shafts will probably be the first thing to go if something breaks. They're designed to handle 750 HP but you never know.

638/620?

Show off, that's a LOT of frackin horsepower - and torque!

Wouldn't that put you comfortably in the 11 second range? Low 11s? High 10s?

I'm going to make a couple of passes Saturday. If my clutch holds up I'll let you know how I did.

Here's a link to the clutch I just ordered. I'm going to see if a friend can help me put it in. If not, I'll pay someone to do it.

[lethalperformance.com...]

Oh, for those who don't know, 638 hp at the wheels translates to about 725 - 750 at the flywheel, depending on whether you figure 12 or 15% frictional loss.

Today I refueled my Peugeot 107 with Premium instead of regular fuel. I kind of had a feeling that I accelareted from 0-100 km/h in 15.5 instead of the usual 16 seconds. Tomorrow I plan to drive with a speed of 150 km/h on the autobahn - if there is no snow. My car has a clutch, too.. ok, ok I am already leaving

if your car is made to run on junk gas, and you throw in the highest octane you don't get faster, you get slower and burn more gas.

Higher octane gas is less flammable and used on higher compression engines.....so your low compression weak 4cly wastes the gas, gets slower, and your mental dyno thinks your car got faster when it got SLOWER.
