I've recently stopped viewing videos on news sites altogether because of the annoying commericals. I've jumped around to a few trying to find a site for info without ads plasted all over the pages and 30 - 60 second ads the play everytime I want to watch a new video.

At times the ads are longer then the actual spot i want to view. The ads aren't even that great and don't influence me whatsoever. I used to just look at other content while the ad played but i've just found this whole process to be to annoying to deal with anymore.

now I just pop in check headlines and im O-U-T I spend less then 60 seconds on the entire site for the whole day.

news sites....IM DONE WITH YOU!

They are trying to make money and video is so much easier to sell. You show it to the client and it has music and the moves, and oooooh, the sweet voiced voice-over makes them sound so, well, just like they are, of course, sophisticated. They have to pay for production, of course. $!

And people watch them. They spend more time on the site, since it takes about, what, 45 seconds to glance at the headlines, vs, 2:30 to watch a video?

The question you should be asking: Why don't you have video on YOUR site?

I use video, all purely training.

Sometimes as a sales tool as well, I guess 90% training 10% sales...I actually have a video rendering out right now in the background.
