Oscar-nominated actor Tony Curtis has died at his US home at the age of 85, according to ABC News.

The Hollywood star, who starred in Some Like it Hot opposite Marilyn Monroe, passed away peacefully in bed, a family spokesman said.

I grew up watching his movies, and hearing of his passing makes me want to go down memory lane and watch a few again.

Some time ago I owned a limo service and we provided car service for Tony, on occasion I would drive him personally. The first time I met him I was picking him up at his house for dinner and a show at Ballys. He answered to door in a cowboy hat and his underware! He was one of the most down to earth, nicest people you could ever hope to meet, I am honored to have met him.
