My Skype Shuts Down and "Skype is no longer available for your o/s"

That's weird, eh. Skype closes down and pops up a box "Skype is no longer avaiablble for your o/s"
It automatically re-installs itself.
Anything like that happens and you start to think malware may play a part.

Automatically reinstalls itself after telling you it's no longer available? Yep, I'd sure be thinking malware - wonder what kind of payload the "reinstall" brings with it?

I spoken to a few people and they have had this happen.

Are you running the Beta version of Skype?

Yes, it was the Beta, and I don't mind them wanting to get me onto a common platform.
If it was Skype, it's a pretty poor way to force an update, which makes it look like some form of malware.
They could simply have posted an alert when I logged on, instead of a cryptic message.

Yep, happened to me a few times. It also tells me there are no new updates, but when I go to the website, a new version is available. Only happens on Win 7 btw.

Ya, betas never say that there is a new version available. You have to go get the latest. There was a new beta version released about 3 weeks ago.
