Why buy a MAC?

I really do not understand why anyone would want a Macintosh. The only thing I hear from people who own them is "all the pro film, media and graphics people use them!". Sorry, not anymore. Are they any better at that? nope! PC's can do the same work only faster if you know what your doing. I have also heard MAC's are better dealing with virus, sorry, not true if you know how to use a PC. So I ask those with MAC's, why? You have to go out of your way to make anything compatable and I hear some even spend a lot of money to get software that makes there MAC virtually a PC. Someone convince me they are any better and worth the money, and don't tell me it is because of the "cute apple".:)

This is unfortunately a topic that has been covered and boils down to people being adamant on both sides and just deteriorates into general mudslinging.

I say, to each their own, the two systems are different and different people are comfortable with different things. It is also nice to have a choice. The more the merrier to offer the most choice for users.

Why? You're pretty dead-set against the idea already, and I have better things to do with my time than get into yet another to-may-to/to-mah-to argument over what boils down to a personal preference.

Some people prefer dark beer, some prefer Coors Lite... Some people like subcompact hatchback cars, some like big pickup trucks... Some people like Windows, some like *nix, some like Mac...

What computer you choose to use is no more my concern than whether you like your eggs scrambled or over-easy.

retrospective - do you have some specific question about using a Macintosh that someone here could help you with? I'm sure you can get an answer to any specific questions you might have...unfortunately, the way you worded your post, some might get the mistaken (I'm certain) impression that you were trolling...
