They all mean the same thing, Happy New Chinese Year and Good Fortune for the coming year.
Chinese New year is one of the oldest and certainly most important, festivals celebrated in China. Also known as Spring Festival, it celebrates the earth waking up after Winter, traditional a time to start plowing and sowing seed for the next harvest.
It is also a time of Spring Cleaning, Forgiveness, Debt resolution, Family and Fun.
Depending on translations, it is the Year of the Water Sheep, Black Sheep, Ram, or Goat. Pretty much one and the same really as Goat and Sheep translate the same in Chinese.
It is one tradition, amongst many, to wear Brand New Undies on Chinese New Year Day, preferrably Red. I've got mine, I hope you have yours. ;)
Onya
Woz
as I don't wear any undies
Oh c'mon... you can make an exception for a major holiday!
I'm not in that big a rush to go shopping though, Woz... still have 9 hours 'till New Years Day. I can pick up a pair on the way home. As for the plowing and sowing though, I still have a few months before the ground thaws enough to think about it. ;) The undies will have to do.
