The New Delhi police got deluged with pictures of driving and parking violations [nytimes.com] on their facebook page and are writing tickets!

The traffic police started a Facebook page two months ago, and almost immediately residents became digital informants, posting photos of their fellow drivers violating traffic laws. As of Sunday more than 17,000 people had become fans of the page and posted almost 3,000 photographs and dozens of videos.

...

Using the pictures, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued 665 tickets, using the license plate numbers shown in the photos to track vehicle owners, said the city’s joint commissioner of traffic, Satyendra Garg.

Big Brother is watching you, with the help of your friends and neighbors. :)

It says people can contest the tickets. Then I guess the burden of proof is on the ticket recipient to prove the picture was faked?

In other news the home minister of Maharashtra got snapped in a car without a seat belt. He said the seat belt law needed to looked at again. Never mind that thousands of people get hauled up and even fined everyday for not wearing them when driving in Mumbai, Maharashtra where the average speed is 15 mph.
