I thought it was funny. But, then, I do not live in Pennsylvania.

If they wanted to show the homes of the real crooks, the image would have been of the capitol complex in harrisburg

Well...we've had adverts like that in the UK for claiming false benefits, TV licenses and car tax for a few years now.

Nothing really new here.

Aesthetically though, this is a nicer advert than what we get!

A gov should not run threating ads to its citizens.

that is a bit scary, not scary like it would make me want to pay my taxes but scary like someone(s) needs to lose their high paid government job and be tarred and feathered.

This ad is actually quite good. Now no one can pretend that "It can't happen here." The harsh reality of the digital age, and what it means for free society, is right up front. A real public service.

I had both thoughts. I've settled on the latter point of view.

I'd add that, as from someone who has worked in policy making and seen people be impacted in negative ways from the policies I've created--no regrets, we have to draw lines sometimes--people need to realize that who they vote for can have a meaningful impact because the government can make your life "uncomfortable."

Again, therefore, the ad is a public service.
