You don't know how lucky you are unless you have been to one. Currently they are only in California, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. The company is building a whole new meat processing facility in Texas, so more Texas locations should be on the way.

Here's their site:

Don't miss the "Not so secret menu":

Make sure to get it Animal Style. And don't forget the great fries and shakes

I second that. It's not the best burger I've ever had, but definitely the best fast food chain burger I've ever had.

I made an observation a few months back that has so far held true, but I wanted to confirm with someone else. Have you EVER seen an In-N-Out more than 1 mile from a freeway?

LIA, part of their plan is making sure there is an easy path to get in and out (not meant to be a pun) of their stores.

The company is building one about 5 miles from my house... right next to a freeway offramp.

Best fast food chain .... EVER!

Can't believe they are breaking tradition and going to Texas. This will mark the begining of the end of In-n-Out being the best fast food chain. .... arrrggghhhh!

My understanding (from reading the biography of the chain) was they did not want any stores more than a days drive from head office. It also meant that they could process all the food in oe location too and keep strict controls on quality. Now it looks like they are going National ... then likely International. Too bad.

I am going to be flying into SFO next month and I already scoped out the store that is right beside the airport and will be there minutes after I land.

The management of the company has changed recently. I will not go in to details, but there was a book out recently about the problems the founding family has had. New management has come in and apparently expansion is on the horizon.

I think I'll buy stock in pharmaceutical companies that make cholesterol lowering drugs.

Ya, that is the book I read. This new management will ruin the formula IMO. Too bad.
