What a great idea!

Two engineers from the University of Bath have invented an off-road wheelchair to enable disabled people to cover terrain previously off limits to them.

Tim Morgan, who developed the idea with John Wardle, demonstrates the "Mountain Trike" and explains where he got the idea from.

a friend of mine had ALS.
while he had a large assortment of accessibility tools and toys, one of my favorites was the beach wheelchair with balloon tires.
it was not self-propelled or motorized, however.

Is it really such a good idea? What if a disabled person goes solo out in the forest somewhere and either gets a flat tyre or falls off and can't get back on?

it's about having access and autonomy, making things possible that normally would be limited by 'ability'

change the sentence

What if a -- person goes solo out in the forest somewhere and either gets a flat tyre or falls off and can't get back on?

I don't know, call someone, make sure people know where you plan on going, just like anyone else.

>> the beach wheelchair

totally cool, gonna look that one up

What if an able bodied person goes out solo in the forest and breaks a leg?
