I've exhausted my google searching and I'm sure I'm not searching for the right terminology...so I figured WebmasterWorld would have to know. :)

Has anyone figured out how to run live cams via USB?

I have some camcorders that don't support firewire (which I'm used to, always works) and I wanted to connect them to a netbook via USB.

I can transfer video but it just won't sync with the camera via USB to capture/stream live.

Anyone know if this is possible or how it can be done?

I should note that I'm aware that there are some USB streaming camcorders out there...but is there anyway to make this work with those without?

If you can view the live output on your screen you should be able to set up a stream with VLC. You can use your desktop as VLC's input, or any video device.

with the right driver you can use your HD cam the same way as you do your webcam.

try the trackercam driver.
