Right now with the windchill (or as I like to call it, "the frisbee factor") it is -25C with wind gusts up to 46km an hour. My daughter wants me to take her for a skate at one of the outdoor rinks. I'm thinking about it.

Brett, can I change my nick to Brass Monkey?

Weather has been a major topic here in Dublin this week, waiting for the wind to die down. Yesterday it did, and today we've got a Spike [archeire.com].

Check the forum thread at that site for loads more photos.

In case anyone's curious, my in-office lunch sucked big time.

ya, I'm always feeling sorry for my little brother in Eire... until days like this.

least it's actually winter again in Canada... not that I'm hoping for another ice storm, but it's better than last winter when they didn't even flood the rink beside my place!

I certainly would break out the 4 letter words to describe this weather. 9f here this morning and 30mph winds. bone chilling cold.

Hi Fiver,
You had it delivered and had to defrost it in the microwave? ;)

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you BT....this week it has been so - - - - (your own four letter word of choice) cold.

Hey, after a week of -30F and lower, anything above zero is fine by me... as long as it's cold enough to keep the snow frozen.

Once the snow sticks for the winter, it's best for it to stay below +25F or so... otherwise, the snow starts to get slushy, and it ices over at night, and driving (or walking) anywhere is a nightmare.

It is hovering right aroung freezing here. We are supposed to get our first "real" snowfall today and tomorrow. We haven't gotten any more than an inch or two at a time and it melts the same day. Hopefully we can get some that stays around for a while. Darn El Nino!

We've had a bit of a chill in NYC the past few days but don't exactly know what the temps are. This AM at 7:30 channel 1 showed 14F, channel 2 15F, channel 4 19F. Walking the mutt at 7:32 and the Daily News building showed 10F.

Guess that means it's somewhere between cold and cold.

-25f with the frisbee factor today. Conditions on the rink [canadascapital.gc.ca] are the best they have been in years.

Check out the live feed [canadascapital.gc.ca]. I'm the guy in the tee shirt.

..Just about to step out of the office and into -22C weather.

I've been warming the car up since lunchtime.

Should be just about ready.

+2C (0 = freezing), no snow, typical winter weather for a gulf stream moderated climate. All grey and damp. Can't wait to go skiing and see some snow ;)
