out of the blew my boss gave me a new logitech optical mouse.

Way cool.

But now when i use the scroll wheel on a webpage, if i reach the top or the bottom of the page, it will act like i hit my 'back' button.

really annoying!

Is that a "feature"?

Perhaps there options to control that behavior in the mouse control panel software?

actually, i did not bother to install the software they came with it. I just yanked out my old mouse, and plugged in my new mouse.

Last time I installed mouse software, that sucker tried to stick AOL on my machine.

You might want to try it :)

You can probably just download drivers from the web if you're afraid Logitech has extra software on the disc. I would just install from the disc and see if there is a "custom" install option.

I recently replaced my dead rodent by a Logitech. Software installation is mandatory and unobstrusive.
