I love it when im looking for directions, its easy to look on a map and go "yep second left then third right" but if you can see exactly as you would when you are in a car then its very easy.
Next step is to have the street view built into a satnav so you could see road layouts up ahead etc - cool.

And then after that, have it projected onto the windscreen, so the actual road you need to head down will be flashing, or something like that.
In fact, you could go with different themes. You could choose 'Procession', and on your windscreen it could look like you're following a parade or something like that. When all the bands and elephants turn left, you follow them. As long as you follow the crowds, you're heading in the right direction.
Man, that would be cool.

I see in todays Telegraph that the SAS are complaining that Google placed their base on street view and wont remove it.
Seems a bit silly for google not to remove it as has been requested
