[cnn.com ]

The ... funeral invitation reads, "Internet Explorer Six, resident of the interwebs for over 8 years, died the morning of March 1, 2010 in Mountain View, California, as a result of a workplace injury sustained at the headquarters of Google, Inc."

I can say that once upon a time I loved you. May you find peace with a 56K modem somewhere.

Yeah, that's a carefully crafted viral campaign. Well done, good for them. May they see so much traffic that their servers groan under the strain.

Unfortunately is still is being widely used well past its "use before" date. Mock funeral or not.

Until corporations that have settled with XP/IE6 make the change, it'll never die.

IE6 is losing users at a steep pace. At the current rate of attrition I belive IE6 should sink to under 10% of all users by this summer and expect it should plateau at around 5% by Winter.

No hint of an upgrade here (major corporate with desktops numbered in five figures). I confidently expect that when our ecommerce site is next upgraded we will no longer be able to access it from within the company.
