Here's something I haven’t previously looked at in great detail, but if I wanted to say start my hotmail/yahoo/Gmail service, whats the easiest/cheapest way of doing this?

I want users to be able to setup their own email account on my domain.

I've tried searching for 3rd party solutions, but not having much luck. I dont mind if the users themselves individually pay for this service.

Also, is their windows solution to this? I suppose Outlook web access is the solution, but what alternatives do I have?

1) Buy LOTS of servers.
2) Hire lots of staff members to deal with spam complaints.

No suggestions for the software. The mail server I use gets prohibitively expensive past thousands of users.

What's your goal here?

I am assuming that your domain is example.com and you want people to have an address of johnDoe@example.com as an email address? Why?

If the scale is under a couple of thousand and if it is for something like marketing your domain name (which is what I did), you can just set up a bunch of email accounts with whoever is hosting your domain, or just offer pass-through. (Assuming you're working with a major player.) It didn't really catch on for me, but it was a simple marketing trick just to offer it.

But, otherwise... LifeinAsia is right on the money. For gosh sake, why?

you may already know this, but microsoft and google offer free email for domain owners.

MS has the option of allowing new users to set up their own accounts.

It was something I wanted to do sometime ago, but a friend recently ask me about doing the same thing.

He has a business where if clients email from his domain this would be an ideal marketing tool for his business.

creeking, I didnt know this, is this an option on gmail or something? as I cant see how to do this.

Not sure about gmail but you can easily set this up through a number of mail box providers ...."sent you a sticky so I don't violate WebmasterWorld TOS"
