If you ever see 'md5' next to a download, it is for file verification to make sure it is valid and downloaded without any corruptions.
You can run a file through the md5() hash function and get an md5 hash. They provide you with their md5 hash, and if yours matches, the file downloaded OK.
If you're having a problem with your download, I would contact the website in question.
