Did a lot of backups, turned back computer clocks and stocked up on peanut butter... and champagne.

I remember it well, I was sick as a dog with flu and so was stuck at home feeling miserable. I slept through the celebrations. :)

I remember it all too well. I was a programmer at the time and had been involved in modifying a boat load of accounting type programs to deal with 4 digit years. As it turned out, another of the programmers missed an entire section of a payroll package that had to have some real quick fixes just a few days into 2000 so that people could get paid. Those fixes landed in my lap to do. After those first few days I think the entire staff was on edge waiting for something else that got missed to crop up but fortunately nothing else ever did.

I don't think I really got to celebrate anything until the end of January 2000.

peanut butter... and champagne.

Oh dear.....

If you remember 12/31/1999, or 31/12/1999 to some of us, then just watch out for 22/12/2012 or 12/22/2012 depending on how you see things. That's a whole new cup of tea.

Happy New Year to all!

added: and I know some companies have already started preparing promotions for 20/10/2010. Ohhhh, can't wait..... Where will you be at 20:10 on 20/10/2010?! lol.

I remember it as
1999-12-31
, but that's a whole other story.

It's interesting that most of the websites dealing with Y2K issues have long since closed down. There's little to refer to now.

Come 2038 and the Unix rollover, the events of 1999 will have been completely forgotten and nothing at all learned from it.

I 'think' I was in a restaurant in Birmingham drinking 'free' cocktails :)

I was on the floor of the restroom. Not my proudest moment!

12/31/1999? I do not remember ever having seen that sequence of numbers before.
