Are you trying to say that all those who watched the fight in MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada doesnt have an access to UFC?

You might be from Puerto Rico. Im from Philippines.

I used to be a boxing fanatic. Loved the grand spectacle of events with bigger than life boxers. I even watched the bum of the night fights ESPN used to run during the week in the early 80s. But for some reason the sweet science has lost its hold on me. I haven't really analyzed it and can't explain it, but I'd just as soon watch Bully Beat Down. Maybe I'm getting old.

I don't know.. I think it's the testosterone thing. I can drink a six pack and watch guys beating the holy crap out of each other and actually get worked up over it... even more so if I've got some money on one of them. (and we're only talking 5 or 10 dollar bets.)

I was a boxing fan in the days of Ali and Sugar Ray. Not a fanatic but a certified fan. There was a methodical, even scientific way thay laid opponents down. The footwork, the hand speed, the way they worked the ring. I wasn't fond of Ali's mouth.. I prefer winners who do so with a little bit of dignity and even a touch of humility but there's no denying he'll be remembered as one of the best.

UFC reminds me of street fights. I've been fortunate to have only been in a few of those and then only when I was much younger. I watch it though. Even did a pay per view and invited the guys over one night. Chuck Liddell dropped this guy in first seconds of the second round and I felt cheated.. wanted it to be a longer fight.

UFC and boxing are 2 different beasts. Anyone trying to compare them apparently doesn't know what each is about. UFC fights rarely last longer than 2 or 3 rounds and if they do both guys are wasted. I mean they're ready to call it in and this in spite of quality training. A boxing bout can go 12 - 15 rounds and often does. Bigger gloves, shorter rounds... sure this factors in but I think there's more technique in boxing as well. In UFC you just beat the guy down. Hammer him and when he falls, jump on him. In boxing you have to out think your opponent. Wait him out, pick him apart.

I'll probably get argument here but they are truly 2 different sports, UFC and boxing.

Two different sports indeed. But there's much more to UFC than hammer the opponent until he falls and jump on him. The real skill and strategy comes in the ground game. Too bad that's the boring part. I'd much rather see someone get hammered until he falls and get jumped on.
