An e-mail I received today (purported to be from the secretary to the Director of the FBI) feels that I would be interested to know that the FBI, in conjunction with some other U.S. intelligence agencies, recently investigated a pending transaction that I supposedly have with the Central Bank of Nigeria, and they found it to be 100% genuine and that I may proceed with the transaction without further delay.

There is also a warning about some unscrupulous people in Nigeria trying to scam rightful lottery winners out of their earnings. (Say it ain't so!) So the bank has teamed up with the government of Ghana, which, according to the sender, has a good economy and is scam-free.

However, the closing provided some good advice warning against the perils of communicating with anyone from Nigeria.

Oops- not that new. Googled it and found almost identical copies from 2+ years ago.

i just got one where the guy says he wants to marry me and spend all of his millions of dollars with me in paradise...

but we have to get married first... so i have to send him all of my information so he can put it on the marriage certificate...

once he gets the info, i shall receive a certified genuine copy of the certificate signifying we are really married, and i will be entitled to half of his sum...

hmmmmm.... i guess if i dont have to kiss the bride, it wont be that bad eh?

Yeah, but did the FBI certify your potential mate as 100% genuine? Accept nothing less than FBI certification sent from a Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, or Gmail address! :)
