Microsoft Investigates Windows Live ID And Password Breach [news.bbc.co.uk]
Thousands of hotmail passwords have been hacked and posted online, according to reports.

Microsoft, which owns the popular web-based email system, told BBC News that it was aware of the claims and that it was "investigating the situation".

I guess it doesn't do any harm to change your password.

What does that gain them?

I broke down - against my better judgement and after a WHOLE pile of whining, and got a windows live account so my kid could get some Halo 3 ODST prerelease thing. No CC info or anything, but my address and info is in there.

There's really no danger other than some hacker knows my name and email I guess?
