But I was at the strip Saturday night and a freelancer took this picture, which I liked so much I ordered an 8X12:

My car in the Staging Lanes [ermphotography.com].

That's your car lawman?

That almost looks like a painting. Actually it does look like a painting.

Not a painting. That's my car right down to the neighborhood entry sticker in the lower left side of the windshield. Looks like a little photoshop enhancement. I'll hafta ask the guy who took it. I love that pic nonetheless.

LIA, I'm so fast, they gave everybody else a big headstart. ;)

Here's me [ermphotography.com] later on in a run-of-the-mill launch. Nothing impressive about that one.

BTW, my headlights are not on. Those are the corona lights (aka "angel eyes")

Alrighty wyweb, just found out the photographer used High Dynamic Range to produce the image. According to him he processes several pictures of varying exposure and combines them into one photo.

HDR is indeed what it looked like.

There are a number of ways to do it: take multiple shots (not so good for moving stuff), or "fake" it by using the extra info in the raw format of high end cameras. I'd bet on the alter technique at a drag strip.

In HDR ( or hdr remix a la redynamix etc ..which is what this looks like ..from the sky especialy ..unless one really spends some time on the "tweaks" one gets "artsifacts" or sometimes one "over pops the zits" so to speak ..:)

So ..if those are your wheels ..who scratched the doors ? ;)

btw ..in France a BM "racer" is nowadays regarded as a sort of "blaireau" caisse ..( uncool )..

trade it for a merc or a porsche would be better for one's cred sur la croisette ..ou n'importe ou ..

a porsche ( with a "tea tray" ) is still considered "cool" ..even if neither of us will see 50 again :)

and no one at the drag strip will ask you to fetch their groceries for them ..which I was once asked to do whilst driving a BM ..:(

my favourite drag/ street car ..should never have sold it ah misspent youth :) [finecars.cc]

dont know if this one was mine or not as I never kept a copy of the logbook ...and cant remeber my reg No .but was otherwise identical livery ..and there werent many around in 73/74 ..I only ever saw 2 others anyway ..lovely car ..needed to really concentrate to drive it ..other wise the rear wheels kept trying to pass you in second and third gear :)..nice noise it made on downshifts ;))

Hello LG:

Doors definitely not scratched. You can, however, see the reflection of the car in the staging lane next to me.

It's sweet. I like the effect.
