My father taught me to hang in there, never quit. And, quite frankly Dad, while it probably is the reason I'm as happy and successful as I am, I have learned (the hard way) that one can take that advice too far.

Obviously, my Dad didn't teach me punctuation.

My Dad taught me how to throw a curveball and drink beer.

Never really got the hang of that curveball though...

My father passed away more than thirty years ago but I do have my own kids and grandchildren. I was disappointed yesterday when I only got two gifts ... then I remembered I only had two kids. :)

I have this insatiably thirst for understanding how things work and how to make things better.

For this reason I have made the Tax-man and VAT-man very, very rich! Maybe one day they will throw me back more than scraps from my earnings...

I've noticed this Fathers Day affair is quite widespread here in Malaysia. Where are you from, and is it a new thing that has 'appeared' or something long established?
