Fish falling from sky causes power outage

Authorities suspect an osprey dropped the 14 inch carp into powerlines, resulting in a power outage in Salem, OR.

Classic.

About 5 years ago, an eagle dropped an even bigger carp not five feet from me right in the middle of a golf course fairway. Scared me half to death.

We've had a number of fish dropped on or near our house by eagles. Once we were all startled by a loud smack against the window during lunch. We all turned to see a giant blood splatter on the window. It was a large ling cod carcass that had been filleted (so it was the head with spine and tail attached), must have been three feet long. Amazing how much weight eagles think they can carry. Last year we had an eagle on our steps after it got a bit too close the high voltage lines. Power was out for a few hundred homes about 1/2 hour.

This is right up there with the 6lb chihuahua that got blown away by a 70mph wind in AZ.

The poor dog went up, up, up he went, flew clean over the Dixie Hiway and was found a mile away in the woods all dirty but OK.
