Different people i meet, have different ways of doing things.

I like phoning people up and getting the ball rolling rather than leaving it to the mercy of email, i don't know wether it is a feelly type thing; but i feel that i achieve a heck of a lot more out of a phone call, even though a ten minute delay via a call answering service can be a wind up; it gives me ten minutes of rehearsal time in how to state and complain my situation in attempting to gain the maximum amount of cooperation and compassion too my cause.

I go email for non-urgent stuff and telephone for stuff I want to get sorted there and then. I think it's the same as for you as when I actually speak to someone I feel like the ball is rolling whereas you're not sure whether an email has been read or not...
