This kind of thing used to be done via fax before the internet age. I worked in an investments company and we used to get them by the bucket load.
Friday afternoon after a beer or 4 at lunch we'd spend a goodly portion of the afternoon winding them up and leading them on.

Before this post, sometime yesterday I thought to myself. These poor souls. I wonder who doesn't have a relative in that part of the world who is not a relative of some deposed person or is not connected to the previous government.

Oh, btw for anyone associated with Yahoo!, hotmail, etc.
If ya'll have programmers bright enough to be able to detect spam and plop it into a Bulk or Junk mail folder, why aren't you bright enough to just delete it in the first place. Just think of all that server space which could then be devoted to all the other freaking spam ads you toss onto my screen anytime I visit.
