I think one of the most revealing questionnaires you can take that's available on the web is a version of the Myers-Briggs personality survey. It groups people into 16 categories according to four pairs of variables: Introvert/Extrovert, Sensing/iNtuitive, Thinking/Feeling, Judging/Perceiving. The survey thus indentifies you as INTJ, ESFP, ISFJ, etc.

Although people of all categories can be found in all careers, there are strong statistical correlations with certain lines of work. Scientists/inventors are often INTJ or INTP types (introverted, intuitive, thinking, and either perceiving or judging). People in the helping professions are often ISFJs. Sales people are often ESFJ, and so on.

Here's a simple version of the Myers-Briggs [humanmetrics.com] (the real thing is many pages long and is licenced only to professional psychologists). What types to we have here at WebmasterWorld? I would guess something of a bimodal distribution with the more computer-geekish people in the INT- area and the e-commerce/sales people in the ESF- area. But that's a guess.

iNFj

I took this test years ago, though it was much longer.

I'm a Counselor Idealist according to the results, the details of which I would say describe me quite accurately.

hmm, I took the myers briggs before school and after school. I remember I was an infj before school, and I remember I was something different afterwards, but don't remember what... this test always bugged me (but whatever, all psych tests do) and I suppose it's invalid if you've studied psychometrics.. but I hadn't when I was an infj, so I guess that's me.

Try reading the descriptions for other personality types and see how well you think they describe you... think if it's the one you'd read first you might have described it as accurate?

Actually, I did that the first time I had taken a Myers-Briggs test, and the one I'd come up with from the test deffinitely fit me best. I figure that makes it at least slightly more meaningful than astrology ;)

We sell the Insight Inventory which is based on the Myers-Briggs. It is based on four personality traits. I am reserved precise, steady and indirect. This is a very good tool as well. I do web design and some sales for the Insight Institute. Thanks
