Sdcard unreadable - Any suggestions to repair or recover files

Any suggestions to repair or recover files?

A 1 gig sdcard in a canon powershot camera stopped working right and the camera started saying unrecognized image or video. Any suggestions for software to fix or repair the file system and or recover the images on it? My preference is open source, os doesn't matter.

Yes, but I'm not sure I can list them here. I have used software that has successfully recovered 2 CF cards after they corrupted and - only last week - recovered a deleted file from an SD card. It isn't free but, IIRC, isn't overly expensive either. If you sticky mail me I will provide further details when I get home.

Thanks I forgot to check this thread, I used cardrecovery successfully cost was 30 ish...

I am surprised that no one has added that function to a open source disc tool yet. It has to be simple for those guys. Oh well.
