A few days ago a german newspaper got a parcel with strictly confidential information on several thousand credit card customers of German bank LBB. 900 microfiches with names, addresses, credit card numbers, bank account numbers. Some German media described it as the "worst ever case of data theft" in the country.

Now it turns out the scandal was caused by two hungry courier drivers. They opened a parcel containing "Christstollen" a german christmas cake and ate it. The cake was to be deliverd to an editor of "Frankfurter Rundschau" a german newspaper. To cover their tracks they took one of six parcels directed to the LBB and exchanged the label - unaware of the content of the parcel.
