Funny side effects of alcohol

When I drink alcohol, more than 1 beer anyway, I get an itchy feeling on the soles of my feet, that lasts for about an hour. It's been this way for years. Does this happen to anyone else?

Does anyone else experience other unexpected side effects that might be considered funny? (from mild alcohol consumption... obviously getting drunk isn't funny.)

My reply wont sound funny at all : Medical. Maybe a blood circulation problem.

I get some funny feeling at the oposite end.

Doctor will tell you to stop standing upside down for a while.

Sounds like some kind of allergy to me... one would hope it's not a circulation problem but OTOH, diabetes often causes circulation problems, with symptoms appearing most dramtically in the feet... and I've heard that beer, with its high carbs and empty calories, is not so good for diabetics in quantity.

the wierdest thing that has happened to me was on a flight to Greece. Had a few drinks at the airport to get me in the holiday spirit. Got in the plane feeling fine, not drunk at all plane took off and as soon as we hit altitude the drink hit in, as the plane descended I sobered right back up again and got a hangover, then as we landed I was totaly normal again. it was like the entire drinking cycle accelerated.

After a couple of drinks, I get intense pain in my cheeks like I am blowing up a baloon. Takes some time to go away. Always have hated that.

I have been known to suffer from an unusual one known in the medical world as "beer bolemia".

I have a strange one too....

I tend to fall over, and forget everything.

Very Debilitating. :(. Worse still, I always seem to hit my head when I fall over, which means it hurts in the morning. Uncanny.

I have long-standing injuries to both my knees - torn cartilege and such.

For the last five years or so they cannot handle their alcohol.

It's atrocious. I can be perfectly sober, but after a beer and a half my knees are absolutely sloshed.

After I have one Newcastle Nut Brown Ale, I start itching all over. I think I'm allergic to the nuts. But I can have a 12 pack of Dutch Pilsner and I'm a little red faced but no itching.

Nut allergies are pretty common, from what I hear... but I didn't realize they actually used nuts in Nut Brown Ale. I thought the name was a reference to the color. Interesting.

mivox - I think I'm showing my ignorance about beer. I think you are correct that "nut brown" refers to color. But whatever is in the beer, I get itchy... Maybe I will have to try one tonight and see if the allergy is psychological. ;)

p.s. I've drink bottled beer too, but the Dutch Pilsner at Trader Joe's for $3.99 (six pack) is hard to pass up!

Re: Nut Brown Ale...
Heck if I know what they put in it. People put all sorts of odd things in their beer, so they may use nuts or some kind of unusual grain that most other beers don't have.
