At which point I had to put him on hold, beacause I was lauging too much to deal with his problem. I know its cruel to laugh at peaople but this is funny. Just thought I'd share it. :)
Reminds me of a story I read once about a customer service employee of a major hardware manufacturer telling a client to repack his/her machine with all the manuals etc. and return to the shop, citing the reason for a refund being that they were too stupid to use a computer...
<me>goes to try and find the story online</me>
He was wondering why the LCD display wasn't functioning properly. He said all the numbers were the same on the phones he had installed. I asked him what number was on the display. He replied, 1-555-123-4567. I told him to remove the protective sticker from the LCD display area. His response was a short expletive and then he hung up. :) True story.
Him and his wife were arguing, she took a plate and tried to throw it at him he ducked and it hit and cracked the monitor, they were arguing because of their connection not working.. hence our fault :)
I think I attract them some times :)
I found that story (never checked to see if snopes has anything on it though). It was buried in the most bizarre site, so I just put the transcript on one of our servers here [webdemo.ddsi.ie].
