Has any webmaster around here had their teeth whitened? What impact if any did it have on your life? Getting better job offers, closing more deals, attracted more people from the opposite sex?

If you think that 'fake' breasts or nose are wrong, what about 'fake' smile?

Your profile reveals that you (like me) are in the UK. My boss got his teeth whitened (he denies it, but... well, you know Friends...)

I think in the UK the average quality of teeth is unfortunately poor- a bit yellow. You might stand out. My boss does, though he seems to have no troubles with the ladies.

It helps. I tried one of them home kits a while back my teeth are ok but not great not bad and the home kit was good made my teeth lighter however was a pain to use. So I am going to just get the treatment that takes an hour or two.

My daughter tried it and it worked well. I was considering it because at pushing 60 my teeth are still good but obviously not as white as they once were. I just could not face the prospect of going to bed every night with a mouth full of hydrogen peroxide.

Have you heard of "tooth lengthening?"

Something new to look younger. Seems teeth wear down about 1mm a decade (you actually get "short in the tooth"). Some Hollywood types are having dentists do this new process.

Maybe that's why women find Dracula so sexy.

I am coming up for my sixtieth birthday so I have had my adult teeth for roughly 50 years. this would mean that I should have lost about 5mm (or almost 1/4 inch) from the length of my teeth.

i haven't had teeth whitening, however i've had the 6 front top teeth capped and i honest feel it was lifechanging, my teeth went from below average by uk standards to almost perfect smile (perfect looks fake - slightly off, looks real) ... i would have done it 10 years earlier if i'd known what difference it would make.

For me, tripling my earnings from my websites might be a life changing event, losing the person I love would be a life changing event, many other things might be life changing but surely not whiter teeth.

Someone a couple of years ago asked how I had such white teeth especially as I smoked. At first I thought they, a couple, were taking the *** but they were very serious.

I brush with Colgate's Advanced Whitening Tartar Control with Micro Cleansing Crystals.

It is not available in every country but does seem to work very well. It even says that it begins to show results after just 14 days.

I wanted to get my teeth whitened, but my dentist told me it would make the composite fillings I've got very noticeable and the only way around it would be to replace the fillings too. Considering how expensive that would be I can live with my 52 year old teeth. Ask me again at 62, maybe my attitude will be different. :)

It is life changing in a way, more girls notice you if you have a really good smile with nice teeth.

Because we had to use mark up languages for word processing in the early days a lot of us oldies found html a lot easier to pick up than the youngsters

It isn't white teeth, kiddies. It is good breath. Always has been. If white teeth were a requisite the human race would have gone extinct years ago. But few gals will consort with a fellow with bad breath.

Although, I suspect hygeine of any sort is a (relatively) recent factor in female consent to human propogation, if only because female consent wasn't always strictly necessary. Indeed, I suspect some of the uglier warzones of the modern age still take the traditional view, but I digress.

I was learning BASIC on my C64 around 1984/85. No PCs though until the early 90s- and then strictly as a user.
