October 29, 2008 WATERLOO -- Canada's Technology Hub was blanketed with one inch of nasty cold stuff last night. The Waterloo region, known for technology companies like RIM, Sybase, OpenText, Google, etc. reeled under the massive snowstorm, which left a fairly thin layer of frozen and crystallized water all over everything.

"Aw man! I haven't got my scraper out yet. It's not even Halloween yet, eh!", said one resident, who works for a local software company, as he went out to his car this morning. "This is a real $#@! drag. I bet the lineup at Timmies is going to be real fricking long today".

The nasty cold stuff was indeed predicted by weather forecasters yesterday, so it's not like residents weren't warned. Though not a surprise, this morning's weather has put many local programmers in a bad mood.

Well those tech companies should move 50 miles south to Niagara. We of course did not get any snow. :-)

But the line up at Tims is always long.
