On top of my 10hr day / 5 day week im also clocking about another dozen or so hours at home.
Im assuming that this is not a lot compared to some members! :)
Those of you who work from home - whats your preference - work in the morning / afternoon, afternoon / evening, evening / night?
JOAT :)
<added> im thinking about this cos i read an article recently saying that IT employees are lead isolated lives (long hours, working on your own, etc) thats comparible to factory workers a few years ago </added>
When I get home I put all the ideas that I had in the day on the screen.
This week I am working 8:15 till 4:15 then I will usualy do a couple of hours in the evening if my eyes havent glazed over :)

Jakpot,
4am...? I couldnt handle that...not a morning person at all. Its 6pm here and im just waking up (been at work since 10am tho)! :)
If i were to work from home itd be a few hours in the afternoon and then full work mode kicking in during the evening and thru most of the night.

guess my usual day consists of about 10 hours in front of the screen. can be me more, can be less.
however, i tend to work 6 days, sometimes even 7 a week. too much.. I would love to reduce it down to 5, but i just can't help it.
There are days where I hate having my office at home.. However, more often then not I love it!

Why not? It makes a great bed time!
I work whichever 20 hours a week are most convenient for me at my 'day' job, and the rest of my waking hours on my web sites. I deffinitely have an operating loss on those so far, but I've only been doing that seriously for about as long as I've been here. Before that, I was spending all my energy hunting for a 'real' job, which was also generating an operating loss and much worse for my mental health than working on my web sites. Besides, if I throw in the towel and look for a full-time job again in a year, then I can claim 'entrepreneurial experience' rather than 'job hunting' for the past year :)
I work about 20 hours a week on some consulting projects.
And right now I'm taking one class.
Come January, I'll be taking four classes, working 20 hours per week at the job I'm now doing full time, and doing another 20 or 30 hours a week on consulting projects.
I need a nap.
But it is fun and I dont have to work them, I am addicted to my puter', I cant help myself
Mon-Fri 9.00am - 6.00pm all day long
then go home, visit the toilet (read PC mags while waiting for the download) , wash my hands turn on the home puter' at 6.30pm
Turn it off about 9.30-10.00pm
Then Beer :) time
Saturdays is puter' all day until around 9.00pm
Sunday is wife and kids day :)
But if its raining then its more puter'
My wife thinks I am a boffin :) but is proud of what I have achieved over the last year or so.
I must average about 80 ish per week

Probably one of the most difficult things to understand for people that are new to working from a home office is that they have to be more disciplined. Then they get to learn real fast that 8 hour days are a thing of the past.
I've been up for as long as 90 hours straight on demanding projects, followed by a two hour nap and then right back at it. I do force myself to get away from the business, but it doesn't happen on a weekly basis yet. Right now I'm looking forward to a holiday in the Keys, hopefully in February. Until then, it is 7 days a week, as many hours a day as I can stay focused.
