Conversion Rate?

1,000 threads for me now. But no tools, control panels, bells, whistles - where are these essential tools to determine my effectiveness, to tweak and fine-tune those things that are perfectly fine just as they are?

If I have helped 10 people in some fashion, my 1% conversion rate would be disappointing. (Not quite sold on the 'if I just help one person philosophy'.)

But, I haven't been banned. Only been wrist slapped a couple of times for inching over a line (more than inching one time:)) My username name hasn't been deactivated with a request to increase my bid before being allowed to respond to additional threads - so the glass it probably at least 2% full and I declare my time at WebmasterWorld an unqualified success.

Hmm. If your thoughtful and helpful posts get your wrist slapped from the mods at times, then I don't feel bad. (They are a tad too strict here, but the mods are impressively kind.)

I seldom comment on your posts, but I do appreciate them. You've done good work here.

Has there been an infringement of TOS that justifies a warning?

Congrats, d-b. Your contributions are always valued by me.

Seems some people are getting a bit touchy around here...

LOL - Thanks. I think he's just having a bit of fun with us himself:))

TOS 24, taken to the letter, I think is simply putting us on warning about saying anything publicly about mods - that the rope is short - and as probably is necessary from a management view. Especially with so many fora and how many users? A minor slight, maybe not even deliberately intended, can become a full scale riot without the guys and gals with the tear gas to keep the hoi polloi (us - me) in line.

However, living on the edge, risking the sting of the ruler coming down upon upon my mostly clean and unscarred hands, I will say that a certain 'brilliant Brit' is my favorite person. Perhaps she is a moderator. Perhaps not. I risk too much going so far, and dare say no more, lest an inquisitor appear at the door.

Maybe not even fair to go that far and suggest anyone in particular because I have read through parts of many thousands of threads and gained insight from people who will never know how helpful they were, though try to always be appreciative. I once got a reply from someone who had like 50 posts. The response was spot on, and saved me a huge hassle. It was not question in which I had minor interest. Checked out their profile afterward and they had been a member since like, forever - but rarely made posts - yet that one made my day.

Thanks to all.
