...this should be attached to the MacDonalds thread about the coffee thats too hot!
Surely the temperature increase in a laptop is gradual enough to remove it before it starts to burn sensitive components? ;)
JOAT
I've always been uncomfortable keeping the laptop on my lap for too long. Somehow consistently heating that area for long periods of time doesn't seem like a good idea, burns or not.
Apparently, keeping some parts below body temperature aids their proper function.
Which brings another question... "Ventral" as quoted in the article , is the UNDERSIDE. (Dorsal - is the 'top")
How the @Q!@#$% did a dude burn the UNDERSIDE of his privates with the laptop on his lap? Or were they in zero gravity?
...Inquiring minds need to know.....

I've generally heard "dorsal" used to refer to the back/spine side of an animal, while "ventral" refers to the stomach side.
On most animals this equates to dorsal/top ventral/underside, but I think that's just a coincidence when referring to four-legged or swimming animals, where their spine is on top, and their stomach is underneath.
I think the spine/stomach correlation is the intended one, in which case the description makes perfect sense. :)
