Mine has always been:

"Give me a place to stand, and I will move the earth"

I recently learned I got to get the stand built all by myself, and doing it.

Isn't a lever involved in there somewhere ?

lawman, got to bring a lever of my(your)own, I guess. The strength of the lever, and how one uses it to move the earth is up to the individual.

Hoping he didn't mean it just literally, lawman, what do you think Archimedes meant by that or it is just too obvious?

Habtom,

No hidden meaning. Just an overstatement to get across the concept of torque multiplication. :)

@lawman: If you're ultra-curious, you could try breaking it down into it's constituent parts :)

42 [google.com]

"tons of flax" [google.com]

;)

The joke is on a form of dualism?

Maybe

Maybe not

To quote MAL-2:

Sometimes I take humor seriously. Sometimes I take seriousness humorously. Either way it is irrelevant.

If you were to reply "Maybe you are just crazy", I would again quote MAL-2"

Indeed! But do not reject these teaching as false because I am crazy. The reason that I am crazy is because they are true.
