ok so a car of mine get broken into, its in the line of sight of the (numerous) police CCTV cameras although they 'arent working at the moment'.

Sat nav and Cd's get stolen, I rant and and rave about it all day only to get home and find my sat nav in front of the computer having removed it then forgetting that Id done so (to my relief).

Still leaves several CD's missing and 3 credit cards missing.

Stupid here is:

Me for forgetting what was in the car.

The police for not having their cameras working

The thief for ruining my car door for about £20 worth of Goth themed Cd's.

Its a mixed up world aint it ?

Serves you right for having Goth themed CDs in your car. :)

Reminds of a story about a friend of mine. He was renowned for having the filthiest, worst old car in the crowd. Someone broke into it when they saw how bad it was they put a CD player into it!

Sorry to hear about your car getting robbed. I hope it isn't too expensive to get the car door fixed.

Even if the CCTV is working there is no guarantee that the police will look through it. There was a story in the paper last week about a guy who had his bike stolen, but the police didn't have time to look through all the tapes. They did say that he could look through them though.

but the police didn't have time to look through all the tapes

That seems to be what happened to us last year when we had a backpack stolen in London at a fast food restaurant with video cameras.

Yep its frustrating as hell, I know of an incident recently where by a friends family memeber was attacked by a neighbour, the police told him not stop having visitors......

Tell the cops that the thieves sped away at 5 miles over the speed limit.
