I myself have been going to my local gym for 20 years 4-5 days a week. I lift weights and use different machines to keep in good physical shape. This has helped me a lot in my daily life. I feel energetic and can handle stress quite well, and I think I owe it to the fact that I`m exercising.
...drat, now I'm hungry already. Turkey sandwiches anyone? ;-)
It doesn't take as much time as you think. I'm not fast, so 6 miles on the weekdays takes a little under 1 hour. I do it 1st thing in the morning, so there's no need to schedule it in later on in the day.
The Saturday long runs take up much of the morning, but that is how I like to spend my Saturday mornings.
I say "try," because sometimes I get chained to the keyboard... was on a binge for a few days after Thanksgiving to deliver a site plan Monday morning, and it was frightening how much that kind of (in)activity took out of me. I was actually having muscle cramps from not moving enough. I should probably set a timer to force myself to take breaks.
When I visit friends, they wonder why I just keep pacing around and don't sit like everybody else.
Only on weekends. I tend to lose 20 lbs by Spring. (Even with the obligatory beer to 'lighten' the sled load :)
Normally, i run three times a week, 5 miles + per session.
On top of this dependant on the working week anywhere from 1 to 3 times in the gym, pure strength muscle+stamina, not mass, i'm feel good as i am.
Try to play at least one game of squash a week.
Starting Rock climbing in Jan, should be good, have the money to take it to expidition level, so very interested in it.
Need to do more swimming.
Other than that, if i don't train i get crouchie and feel yuckie
With your elbow and upper arm as flat on a table as you can, you repetiveley lift a one pound weight.
True, true, it's all true!
Will anybody guess as to what a pint and its glass weighs (when full)?
Close enough for the exercise.
