Internet Central Core (ICC)

What is it?

I was told by someone to learn what the "Internet Central Core" was or ICC. I did a search for it in the search form and came back with nothing.

Anyone have any idea as to what this is?

I've not heard of it, either. I'll pose the Dublin Core [dublincore.org] as a possible answer, though I doubt that's it since your term sounds quite specific.

The only thing Google can find for "Internet Central Core" is a huge pdf from the New York City comptroller's office, including some material about computer system security...

Not exactly what you're looking for. Sounds like you might be on a wild goose chase.

There is no such thing or is made up.

The general idea is somewhat correct.

Links from well established, "major" sites will contribute more of a ranking boost to your site with many search engines...

...but AFAIK, there is no official "Central Core" sites to get links from, unless that's a slang term used on that particular board to denote an established, high-ranking site.

Or they can be talking about the 'core' directories and search engines we submit to, including Yahoo and ODP I suppose.
