Im working on something just now that I feel would be a good subject for a blog (ongoing project that might be useful for others to refer to someones experience in the area).
Trouble is i really only have a vague concept of what a blog is.
I assume its a kinda online journal type deal?
Does anyone know of any sites where you can start your own blog for free? I did a couple of searches, but until i find out a bit more info in reluctant to start anything.
Id appreciate any help you can offer! :)

I found a site that answered my original query, and registered and im updating my blog as we speak.
Just wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts on the matter! :)

Yep, but doesn't have to be. Some are adapting or altering blogs to be down-and-dirty content management systems.
I'd start by checking out greymatter [searchengineworld.com]. If this is a serious project, I cannot recommend starting out with a free blog service.
Its nothing major, just more of a hobby type deal! :)
I have no problems writing content! ;)

ps, any other bloggers out there?
This was a worthy discussion with lots of ideas and information. I still don't have my blog going but we're getting closer. I'm building it into yet another redesign, ha.
Didnt want to spend time tinkering with it!
Just write the content and go. ;)

I use Greymatter weblog software to manage one of my personal sites, and have just adapted a second installation to act as a photolog pulled into the main page via SSI.... but I write material very sporadically, sometimes going a month without adding anything new, and I don't generally link to other sites within my main content, so most people wouldn't call it a blog.
I might look into incorporating some blog software into a site at some point...i like the idea of being able to easily updated new items and ive got a couple of sites that are updated on a daily basis.
