:) It's a Morrow Designs Model ADM20. It powers up, and when I press the Setup key on the keyboard a row of numbers is displayed across the bottom of the screen (0's and 1's, as I recall).

I don't know CP/M, don't even know if it's worth learning. I don't need a boat anchor (no boat) and the door stay open or shut by itself - besides that, it's way too big a doorstop for my little shanty.

I reckon it accepts a 5.25 floppy disk, I base that on the listed specs, not on my observation of a drive slot... I'll be sure to look this evening when I get home.

So, any suggestions what I could do with this beast?

Congrats Grandpa! You are now the world's leading authority on the "Morrow Designs Model ADM20." Simply Google that and you come to...

...here.

Thanks for the great laugh.

Here's a link from CREATIVE COMPUTING, May 1984:

You have to love this:

The basic two-drive system (MD2, as it is called) includes an 8-bit, Z80 main processor with 64K of memory, two serial ports, one parallel port, a green phosphor terminal, seven bundled software packages, and two 5 1/4 double density, floppy disk drives (storing 200K each)--all at a retail price of $1599.

Not fair! I always have to ride down to the arcade to play Pong and you can play it at home. That machine will surely save you lots of quarters.

hollow the thing out,
cut the front off,
reattach it with a hinge,
stick it on a post,
and use it as a mailbox.

A Mustang. The type with hooves, not wheels. :)

...You are now the world's leading authority...

It's great to know that I can still fish.

Pong is a good idea.. for those times when I tire of solitaire. However, I live off the grid, and those two batteries run down pretty quickly when powering the Morrow. I can see where I'll need to invest in a few more batteries, maybe another solar panel.

I do need a mailbox, maybe. But right now all I would get is junk mail. Seems a waste of a good computer.

My last new car was a 1969 Dodge with Red Dale motorhome coach mounted. I had to sell it before I left Idaho last summer, so I am in the market for another "new" car. Maybe I can trade the Morrow for a Schwin.

It would be a unique item on Christie's. e-bay might be better suited.

I don't have any guns, but my wanna-be-thug dope-dealing neighbors do. It might be worth shooting at if it would stop them from putting holes in the water storage tanks.

It would be real nice if I can get the thing to print labels for my widgets (I'm back in the widget business, this time for myself). The bigger problem might be locating 80-up tractor feed labels.

You are too much grandpa! I take it you live in the country and they are tapping into your tanks for irrigation purposes?

I live in the shadows of downtown Atlanta. Living in the country would be more than a breath of fresh air by comparison. They shoot holes in the tanks simply because, I think, they are not smart enough to shoot each other.

You could give it to a school or the police. They are usually glad when they can replace one of their computers with a newer model...
