Formmail Found!

Hilarious 404

Just found this 404 request on my site:

http://mydomain.com/cgi-bin/FormMail.pl?email=lafam&subject=mydomain%2Ecom%2Fcgi%2Dbin%2FFormMail%2Epl&recipient=gobbledegook%40verizon%2Enet&msg=Formmail_Found!

This is the funniest 404 I've ever seen; gotta love the spammers! ;)

Not so funny- if you had formmail installed, the SPAMMER would now have an e-mail alerting him to that effect.

The funny part would be to add that recipient e-mail address to the database of every other SPAMMER (including that one so he sends himself SAPM)!

Of course, SPAMMERs probably change their own e-mail address more often than most people (females, anyway) change underwear.

That's what I found so funny, actually. Somehow generating a 404 with that message included just tickled my funny bone. :)

Isn't email a pretty clumsy way of verifying Formmail installs though? Then again, it would be a very thorough way of verifying that Formmail not only exists, but is actually functional at that location.
