Last summer I received two parking tickets, my tickets had fallen off of the dash board, Im told by teh council that I can appeal against one and one only.

So I do, I hear nothing from them on this except chasing letters for the fines. Then silence on both tickets.

A year later I receive a summons for non payment (a whole year) now im in court often fighting case for my employer so going to court and arguing the toss doesnt bother me, except these arent going for a full hearing.

The council only have to register the debt for it to be enforcible.

I feel agrieved to say the least and feel this has been done on purpose, teh delay that is, so its hard for someone to fight against.

So my webmasters, how enforciable is are the tickets when the debt is registered to the court? And who would I now complain to about the shoddy behaviour of the council ?

Id pay them only they want £190.

well i owed westminster once in a similiar situation to yours and one day i found a bailiff note through my letterbox -

we came to collect your debt, you weren't in so we've towed your car instead.

of course i had been home all along and they never rung the bell! it cost me over 500 pounds to get my car back - including clearing the parking fine!

i've got no idea if i could have challenged their actions, etc, etc - however sometimes enough is enough, i just let it go, as they say, the grief and stress of trying to fight was not worth the money... (this was about 6 years ago)

Not paying will cost a lot more. Time to get out your chequebook.

It would appear that as long as I swear an oath stating I returned the appeal paperwork I should be ok.

The whole thing is criminal
