Can any body clarify on this for me please.

When dealing with my local bank and wanting to know the full name of the person on the phone are they required to give out this information.

They are telling me they are not allowed and keep on passing the buck.

I suspect its more to do with the bank policy ratehr than the law

I always work on the theory that if they won't tell me what I want to know, then I won't tell them what they need to know.

Likewise, if they ever call me I use the line 'how do I know you're calling from my bank'?

After all, on the internet we're told to type an address into the bar rather than blindly click a link somebody sent us.
